Micro-Credentials for Macro-Learning
As we all know, the way in which education is delivered and received is undergoing massive change. Engineering education is no exception to this, calling for innovative ways to meet the ever-evolving requirements of society, learners and education providers. The current climate means that we need to design new programs, invent innovative pedagogies in individual classrooms, further develop online and immersive learning, understand and leverage non-degree-credentials and modularity. This ever-increasing pace of change calls for us to embrace the development of entirely new ways of structuring higher education.
In this webinar we will tackled the topic of micro-credentials, which are gaining momentum globally. Our discussion included current standards and supply- and demand-side issues of micro-credentialing and explored the recognition and acceptance of micro-credentials by employers.
Following the webinar we sat down with the Global Head of Coursera for Campus, Scott Shireman to talk more about micro-credentials and industry skills. In this exclusive interview, learn more about the importance of university-industry collaboration to enhance student employability, how micro-credentials can provide students with industry skills and how to get started with micro-credentials at your institution.
